In the beginning Meg dated the shady Victor Martinez. When Meg was convinced by her brother Tom to dump Victor she did. Victor was outraged and was caught in the act of possibly burning down the Krueger Mansion.
Afterwards, Meg was in debt and had to pay her way through stripping at Dave Lorraine's new bar. Tom and Shawn caught her in the act.
Meg was going to school to become a psychiatrist and she helped out Shawn and Drew. Shawn had paid her debt in exchange for her to help him out. As Meg was helping them out Drew noticed that Meg and Shawn were getting closer and he resisted. As an earthquake roared through the town and Meg and Shawn professed their feelings.
After many months Drew accepted Meg and Shawn's relationship. Shawn then proposed to Meg and she couldn't have been more excited. But a week before the wedding Carrie, Shawn's ex-fling, came back from Maui and Meg found them in bed. Meg was determined to win Shawn back. She drugged Carrie to Fiji for her brothers wedding attempting to brainwash Carrie into hating Shawn and then later drown her. When she was caught she was imprisoned but later released.
Then in 2004 Meg hit rock bottom when Meg kidnapped Carrie and tied her in an abandoned warehouse and lit it on fire, but Tom rescued her. She then injected Carrie with an experimental drug. Meg then in the heat of an argument pushed Carrie into a statue knocking her unconscious. Then Carrie, Tom, and his wife Amanda had Meg admitted to a mental institution. But she escaped the institution with Billie Hardy but was later caught after Meg kidnapped Carrie and handcuffed her to the steering wheel of a car and tried to drive it off a cliff. But Shawn tried to rescue her and he went down with the car. Shawn was later found and Meg was released from the institution after being cured. Shawn then dilusional gave Meg a chance and they are now engaged to marry, with opposition from her mother and brother
