Sonya is a devoted mother to both Meg and Tom. She came to town with her husband Frank to check and see how her children were doing, but her visit wasn't brief. She enjoyed seeing both of her children happy with people who love them.
She was excited to hear that Meg was to be married to Shawn Korus, but was angered to find that Shawn cheated on Meg a week before the wedding. Shortly after Tom became engaged with Amanda Verdi. She enjoyed their tropical wedding.
But then she found out that Meg had drugged Carrie to the island attempting to kill her. When Meg was imprisoned she was distraught, but Meg was bailed out of prison.
But the biggest tragedy struck when an earthquake swept through Bedford killing Frank. Sonya not bearing to be able to stay in the town filled with memories of her husband left town.
But when Sonya found out that Meg was commited to a mental institution she decided to come back to town. But she also learned that Tom's wife Amanda had commited murder. Now, finding out the Amanda had been convicted of murder she struggles to help Tom through his pain.
She's also not happy to hear that Shawn and Meg once again plan to marry.
